Naturally Sharp
Mark Hwang

I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Seoul, Republic of Korea. I lived there for the first 15 years of my life. (Don’t worry. It is not North Korea.) Then moved/immigrated to the U.S. Real name is Kun-Yeon Hwang, meaning that I will build a huge pond in the future. Huh? What...

Some call me Hwang, Kun, Mark, Markie Mark, and Marcus various names. You can call me whatever you want. Just be careful with my last name, if you do so. Just kidding. I prefer Mark.

Anyway, I am in the group simply because I just LOVE to sing. I would probably do anything to be able to have a chance to sing. Well, maybe I was not born as a great singer but I have definitely got something going on. My singing skill does not just come naturally. I was involved with many singing groups throughout my high school years. I was in 4 different choirs for 4 years; Men's Choir, Chorale, Select Vocal Ensemble, and Fairfax Choral Society. I had never sung in front of people before those 4 years.

By the way, I lived in Salisbury, MD for a year and moved to Fairfax, VA. Honestly, Fairfax County is just too harsh on high school students. LOL

So, after coming to the TECH(GO HOKIES!!), I auditioned for Naturally Sharp and they liked my voice and I was lucky enough to make the cuts and started to sing with the group. I sing TENOR II, but I have a wide range, so I can sing from BASS II to mid TENOR II.

Speaking of hobbies, I do many things besides singing with the Natty boys. I would still sing by myself in my dorm room. I recently got a professional recording microphone and I am having lots of fun with it. I also play basketball, and many other sports. I love watching games on TV and actually going to the games. Sports simply rock my world.

I spend a lot of time in front of the computer during the day. I do homework, AIM-ing, facebooking, and many other things. Not to mention that I am pretty good with computers even when they are sick (EDIT: Hilarious!). I wonder why I am not a CS or CpE major.. mmm that's a great question for myself. For real
