I'm from Richmond, Va. My senior year of high school I was somehow persuaded into trying out for show choir (this involves singing and much shaking of the ass). I ended up making it and having a blast; this gave me my first ever organized vocal training. Prior to the "singing and ass shaking", I had been teaching myself how to sing and play guitar. While singing in a band during high school for a short period of time, I learned how difficult it really is to arrange and perform music that someone would actually enjoy listening to. Since then, I have been taking my singing much more seriously than my guitar playing, although I will pick up a guitar every once in a while if I need an accompaniment when serenading a lovely lady.
I'm into punk/emo music like The Used, Taking Back Sunday, Far-Less (Blacksburg's own), and Story of the Year, but I also listen to anything from the Beach Boys to Nickel Creek and Justin Timberlake to get a taste of fine tuned vocal quality. Currently, Daniel Staples, Hunter J. Smith, (Both Natty boys) and I are in an air band called "TLA" (Three Letter Acronym) that performs weekly at one of our apartments; we hope to soon take our act on the road once we get some instruments.
I enjoy fast cars and tight curves. My favorite pastime is driving the country roads of southwestern Virginia. Just like most university students, I also enjoy attending weekend festivities where they serve college drinks. Occasional road trips allow my friends and I to experience college drinks at other locations.
